A Belarus-Sized Problem. Belarus is a country in eastern-Europe that acts as the dividing line between Europe and Asia. Russia stands to the east with Poland to the west and Ukraine to the south. From the perspective of the average American, Belarus is a relatively forgettable country in an active European political climate but that may be because we do not hear very much news out of the country. This is because Belarus is classified as a dictatorship, the sole dictatorship in Europe. The President of Belarus is Alexander Lukashenko who was first elected President in 1994. Lukashenko has since served five terms as President and was most recently inaugurated for his sixth term in August. The most recent election did not come without rough waters as Lukashenko reportedly received over 80% of the vote, which was quickly recognized by the international community as illegitimate . Shetland and Gold Coast. I find that most of my generation (people born sometime around 1998-2002) doesn't listen to the radio . I have not listened to the radio since I was in high school and I stopped doing that after I purchased Spotify premium. I believe, like most modern mediums including television, film, etc., that radio is outdated which is why the new generations are moving further and further away from it. The radio is suffering the same fate as television wherein it becomes difficult to justify watching or listening when every eight minutes of content is followed by ten minutes of advertisements. When I can listen to whatever I want for however long I want for $5 a month, I consider that a luxury I am willing to pay for.
